Anoka UCC offers a number of small group, social ministries for people with varying interests.
Knitting for Peace meets at 1:00 pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the upper fellowship hall. Members crochet and knit prayer shawls that are given to community members in need of support.
JOY (Just Older Youth) Sisters, a group mostly comprised of retired women, meetsat 1:00 pm on the 1st Tuesday of each month in the upper fellowship hall.
A weekly Bible Study, led by Pastor Curt Johnson, meets on Thursday mornings at 9:30 from mid-September through mid-May in the upper fellowship hall.
Our Writers' Group meets at 7:00 pm on the 2nd Thursday of each month in the conference room.
Four times per year we offer our YAHs (Young At Heart) Luncheon, a themed program and meal. Postcards are sent to remind members of the upcoming event, and RSVPs are kindly requested. Past themes have included the Wild West, I Love Lucy, and World Travellers.
A weekly Book Club meets at 10:00 am on the 1st Saturday of each month.
Each month from September through May adult members gather for our Adult Game and Pizza Evening (AGAPE) event to play table and board games or cards, with pizza and beverage provided for a nominal charge.
Anoka UCC hosts a number of partner organizations who offer support ministries. These include PFLAG, the Minnesota Transgender Alliance, OA, Al-Anon, AA, and two different grief support groups. Please call the office or check the calendar for more information about these ongoing ministries.
