Weddings and funerals
FUNERALS
We are honored to work with you to plan and hold the funeral of your loved one. Membership in our church is NOT required to hold your funeral here. Our Pastor will work closely with you to craft a personal and care-full service in your loved one’s memory that we pray will help you in your grieving process. We are accustomed to working both with and without professional funeral directors.
Our Fellowship Hall and Kitchen are available to you for hosting a luncheon after your funeral. We are happy to work with caterers, or our Funeral Luncheon Coordinator will work closely with you to plan and prepare a meal that our church volunteers will serve.
Everyone deserves a chance to celebrate the life and mourn the death of a loved one. While we assess nominal and reasonable fees for our funeral services, we may be able to accommodate your needs if financial resources are limited.
To schedule a funeral with our church, please call our Office Administrator at 763-421-3375 or email office@uccanoka.org. You may also contact the pastor directly at pastor@uccanoka.org.
weddings
At First Congregational Church we are happy to work with any couple toward the exchange of wedding vows. As an Open and Affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ, we affirm the right of couples to marry regardless of sexuality or gender. You need not be a member of Anoka UCC to be married here.
Our Pastor will work with you to craft a wedding service that celebrates your love and your distinctiveness a couple. Our goal is to ensure that your wedding day is a beloved memory!
Our building may be available to you as a venue with your own officiant, but only after consultation with our Pastor.
Short notice weddings - Sometimes, engaged couples are simply looking for a Pastor who will officiate the exchange of wedding vows on short notice without holding a traditional service. Our Pastor is happy to accommodate these requests as often as is possible.
Fees - The church maintains two schedules of fees for wedding services, depending on whether the couple is part of the congregation (lower fees) or coming from elsewhere (higher fees). Accommodations for financial need may be discussed with the Pastor. The church’s kitchen, fellowship hall, and livestreaming capacity are also available for additional fees.
